Wherefore Didst Thou Doubt

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? - Matthew 14:29-31

Story Behind the Art

Everyone will have moments of trial and doubt in this life, but if we keep our eyes fixed in faith on the Savior, the waves of life will have no power to pull us down and things will work out. It is when we take our eyes off Christ that our faith weakens in the face of fear and we begin to doubt. However, based on our willingness to ask, the Savior is ready to reach His hand toward us and lift us up. - Robert T. Barrett
