The Sower

“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit.” - Matthew 13:23

Story Behind the Art:

Christ taught the Parable of the Sower to His disciples to help them understand how to nourish their faith. This painting includes the symbols Christ used to teach them: the stony ground, the fowls waiting to eat the seed, thorns invading the field, and the good ground bearing forth healthy wheat. Storm clouds in the distance may nourish or uproot the seeds, as do further trials to our faith. The fields stretch on endlessly, representing the eternal nature of the work of the Lord. The Lord holds His hand open as an invitation to grow stronger in faith. - Annie Nader
