O My Father

O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. - Matthew 26:39

Story Behind the Art:

Words fail when attempting to verbalize the enormity of the Atonement. Oh, the infinite wisdom of our Father in Heaven, to create this singular situation—with the knowledge that His beloved Son would be required to fulfill the plan in harrowing torment. As we marvel at His love and sacrifice, let us do as the Savior instructed His apostles in Gethsemane, and pray that we enter not into temptation. In that prayer, let us declare, as the Savior did, in humble submission, “Not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:42) - Simon Dewey
