“Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” - Mark 10:48

Story Behind the Art:

Lord, Have Mercy on Me

© 2016 Susan and David Edwards

I walked in darkness in the middle of day

Alone and fearful as I stumbled

. . . eyes blinded by the lies of this world

And hope within had crumbled

Lost and forlorn

I cried in pain

And then He came!

Lord, have mercy on me

I beg you to set me free!

Please heal me, Lord

Let me see!

My eyes were opened . . . hope was renewed

Joy, chased away my sorrow

But then, sensing all my shadows inside

Doubts clouded my tomorrow

Lost and forlorn

I cried in pain

Again, He came!

Lord, have mercy on me.

I beg you to set me free!

Please heal me, Lord

Let me see!

It isn’t my eyes where my problem now lies

It’s so much deeper, you see

My heart and my soul

Have a need to be whole

Lord, have mercy on me

Lord, have mercy on me.

You’ve made the blind to see

You've healed my soul

Now I’m free! I see!
