For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. - John 6:38

And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. - Matthew 26:39

Story Behind the Art:

Every moment of Christ’s life was dedicated in doing His Father’s will. From His first breath to His last, every action, word and desire was in alignment with His Father’s plan. This painting symbolizes His perfect devotion and submission, with our Savior in the act of looking heavenward, seeking His father. Though our specific missions here on earth differ, we all share that same lifework of submitting our will to the Father as our perfect exemplar did. - Dan Wilson
