Story Behind the Art

In tribute to the sacrifice and achievements of the Latter Day Saints  This quilt print was designed to depict the early days and events of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. In 1997 – Eric was the  Honorary Artist for the Utah Sesquicentennial Celebration. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints purchased the original painting of  Sesquicentennial Pioneer Patterns, which is displayed today in their Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It proudly displays the first temples built by these early pioneers, Kirtland, Nauvoo,St. George and  Salt Lake City. The painting also has quilt patterns popular to the styles of their day.
