”Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid“ (John 14:26-27).
Story Behind the Art:
Even when the world is in turmoil all around us, we can receive the blessing of inner peace. As we remember the Savior and follow Him, we truly can be of good cheer. We can experience real, enduring peace at all times. We can find hope in the Savior's first words to His disciples after His Resurrection: ”Peace be unto you“ (John 20:19). This painting came at a time in my life of great loss. Death had claimed several very close to me and I found myself drawn to a specific place where I could sit gazing out of my window and find relief from my grief. I wanted this painting to not only represent a place of refuge but to bring comfort and peace to the viewer. - Simon Dewey
