He Will Make it More

There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down... When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. ~ John 6:9-13

I have always been amazed at the account of the young boy who so willingly gave up his food to feed the multitude. What was his story? Why was he there with that food? Whatever it was, as the evening approached and the crowd hungered, he offered all he had. Surely he must have known that his meager contribution was not enough, but what a miracle he beheld when the Savior made it enough and more. Sometimes our gifts seem small, but let us always remember that He will make it more. ~ Simon Dewey
