Alma 40:11-12 ...the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life. And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness...a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
Story Behind the Art:
This painting depicts the Spirit World, where our spirits reside after our life on earth and before the resurrection and judgment take place. Spirits in this painting experience a range of emotions, from remorse and anguish to reunion and joy. At the center of the painting is the Savior, teaching the spirits of those who choose to learn about Him. Throughout the painting, spirits are drawing others towards the light and love the Savior radiates, in the hope of teaching all men about the glorious gift of the Gospel.
