And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought...and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. -Isaiah 58:11

Story Behind the Art:

After experiencing the dry, barren wilderness in Israel, I better understood why the Lord uses water as a symbol for the spirit. Ezekiel explains that the waters that issue forth from the temple will heal the wilderness and even the most dead of all, the salt sea. The healing of the Dead Sea not only represents a renewing of the earth, but the healing of our souls through the spirit. I think the Lord wants us to realize that our lives, too, would be a barren wilderness without the “waters” that flow from the temple. I pray that we can allow the Lord to guide us continually, to satisfy our souls in drought, and to fill our lives with Godliness so that our souls will be as a well-watered garden. - Linda Curley Christensen
